Defense Mechanism in a Quantum-Informed Practice Setting and Understanding of Dissociation of Consciousness from Consciousness

Defense mechanisms in psychotherapy settings are well documented in research, as humans have developed complex and important structures to protect ourselves from emotionally challenging events. Post-traumatic stress disorder, abuse, neglect, and stresses of all sorts can trigger dissociation. This class will review the important role of dissociation and introduce in more detail concepts related to emerging theories proposed by rational idealism and quantum physics that suggest our dissociation may prevent our conscious, subject self from Consciousness (Big C) as proposed by several leaders in the field of quantum theory.
